How a public body<\/span> can procure
\nrenewable energy at a fixed price<\/span><\/h2>\n

A public body looking to source renewable energy from Italian assets can do so through a direct Power Purchase Agreement with the producer, or via centralised procurement platforms (Consip, MEPA) that allow for Guarantees of Origin and local sourcing requirements to be included.<\/p>\n

Terrawatt can participate in tender procedures or structure direct agreements with bodies that have the authority to negotiate energy supply outside Consip frameworks. The benefit for the institution is twofold: a stable energy price for the full duration of the contract, and certification of renewable origin through Guarantees of Origin (GOs) issued by the GSE \u2014 relevant for ESG reporting and for communication with citizens and stakeholders.<\/p>\n

When Terrawatt begins developing a plant in a given area, the relationship with local authorities starts before the formal permitting process is opened.<\/p>\n

Municipalities and regional bodies are informed in advance, with the opportunity for technical discussion on landscape impact, compatibility with designated eligible areas, and how the plant fits within the local agricultural and environmental context. For agrivoltaic projects in particular, dialogue with local communities is part of the design process: continuity of agricultural activity on the land is a project requirement, not a concession.<\/p>\n

Territorial compensation measures required under current regulations are defined within the services conference, transparently and in proportion to the size of the plant.<\/p>\n

Italy’s National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC) assigns Regions and Provinces specific renewable capacity targets to be met by 2030. The solar and agrivoltaic plants developed by Terrawatt, all on greenfield sites within designated eligible areas, contribute directly to the achievement of these regional targets.<\/p>\n
